Francesca Kistman (Lina Nablosi): French nurse and volunteer, joined the Palestinian revolution in Lebanon. In her memoirs, Die for Palestine, she writes: "I write in blood, let the whole world hear it. "On September 23, 1984, she was murdered along with other resistance fighters off the coast of Israel after participating in Operation Martyrs of Patience and Strength. It was carried out by a group of volunteers from the Fatah movement led by her husband, Capt. Fatah Daher. In her memoirs, Francesca wrote:
"It seems that I am going to an inevitable death and it will be the most beautiful death. If you betray your people, who fight for you and believe in God, you will go astray." The story of Francesca Lina reflects the phenomenon of that time, when the ideals of the national liberation struggle attracted volunteers from different countries in Europe and the world. Francesca's memoir, Dying for Palestine, places her among other foreign activists who gave their lives for the Palestinian cause.
