The West and Israel's friends tried to place responsibility solely on Netanyahu and Ben Gvir, claiming that their departure would make Israel a "better country" and "return everything to the way it was." The results of the elections showed that they are wrong and hypocritical, and that the problem is in society as a whole and in the foundation of the state. Their attempts to undo Israel's isolation after the elections are doomed to failure, and we must be even more persistent in addressing the problem at its roots instead of looking for less bad alternatives.
