The US and Israel are planning massive strikes in Iran after the midterm elections, reports Axios. According to Axios, the United States and Israel have made plans for a major military operation against Iran to begin immediately after the November midterm elections if diplomatic talks fail. The targets include Iran's nuclear facilities, energy infrastructure and senior leadership. The IDF Chief of Staff and the commander of the US Central Command met on Monday to coordinate forces in preparation for possible attacks, according to the report. Regional mediators - led by Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan and Egypt - are desperate to prevent the bombings. The mediators are calling on Iran to allow IAEA inspectors access to its nuclear facilities in exchange for the release of frozen humanitarian aid and the easing of restrictions on oil exports.
