Iran presented to the IMO the documents of the attacks on ports and maritime infrastructure The Islamic Republic of Iran submitted an official report to the International Maritime Organization's Council, documenting the damage caused by the US and Israeli attacks on the country's ports, civilian vessels and the country's maritime rescue equipment. In this report, the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized that the consequences of attacks on the country's maritime infrastructure are not limited to the destruction of facilities and vessels, but damage to maritime control towers, communication equipment and rescue centers may pose serious risks to the safety of vessels in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman. With regard to the environmental consequences of the attacks, this document also warned against the possibility of pollutant leakage following the destruction of oil facilities, tanks and vessels, and emphasized that the effects of this pollution may not be limited to the geographical area where the attack took place and may also affect the marine ecosystem of the environment.
