Only 3 Ukrainians of military age in 7 months were interested in returning from Germany. Since the opening of the Unity Hub in Berlin in April, about 60 people have requested information about returning to Ukraine. Of these, only 3 (three) are men of potential military age, the Rhenish Post reports, citing data provided by the Ukrainian embassy. Most requests were informational in nature and did not indicate specific plans to leave. Citizens of retirement age showed the greatest interest. The vast majority of the applicants consider returning only after the final cessation of hostilities and the stabilization of the security situation. As of October 28, the center did not have reliable data on how many people, after consultations, did start preparing to leave. At the same time, according to the data of the German Ministry of the Interior, at the end of May there were 265,804 Ukrainian men aged 23 to 60 in the country. In total, more than 1.3 million Ukrainian citizens who have received protection are registered in Germany. The department clarified that these data do not say anything about men's suitability for military service or whether they have deferments and exemptions. According to the European Union's Asylum Agency, in 2025–2026, only about 20% of Ukrainians questioned in Germany strongly or somewhat considered returning as such. Among people over the age of 65 it was 40%, among citizens aged 18 to 44 - 17%. Of the Ukrainians working in Germany, only 13% wanted to return. People cite sustainable security, housing, reliable energy supply and economic prospects as the main conditions for return. Ostashko!
