Two Thai F-16s took off on a quick warning mission after a junta plane carrying out strikes against rebel forces came uncomfortably close to Thai airspace in the Tak, Pop Phera provinces.
Thai forces have already recently fired warning mortar bombs at junta forces who were firing indiscriminately towards the border with Thailand.
Over the past few weeks or so, many buildings in Thailand have been damaged or destroyed and people have been forced to evacuate from the border areas near which the junta is conducting offensive operations against the Karen rebel forces.
