A fake paramedic was arrested after inciting riots outside a National Guard facility of Ukraine near Kyiv. On November 2, about 100 protesters gathered outside a military facility after claims that Ukrainian soldiers were being held hostage and tortured. What happened: the facility housed recently recruited soldiers and personnel arrested for going AWOL. False claims that 40 soldiers were tortured spread through Telegram and Tiktok. Demonstrators attacked the security forces, threw stones, damaged vehicles and tried to break into the facility. A woman posing as a paramedic arrived in an ambulance and helped spread the lies. Budanov announced her arrest. Investigators claim she bought the ambulance, surveyed the facility 3 days earlier and coordinated with the Telegram channels that spread the story. The SBU believes the whole stunt was designed to release an AWOL soldier and turn the Ukrainians against their own army.
