The Syrian security forces announced the arrest of members of a cell allegedly associated with Hezbollah who were accused of planning an attack on the refinery in Homs in central Syria. According to the internal security forces of Syria, the General Intelligence Service, in coordination with the security units, successfully thwarted the planned attack and seized explosive devices allegedly prepared for use against the refinery. The announcement followed an earlier statement on November 1 confirming that authorities had prevented an attack on the facility. Officials in Syria have now attributed the plot to a cell allegedly linked to Hezbollah.
