Channel 12 in Hebrew: The Southern Command and the IDF's Directorate of Technology and Logistics recently began an experiment to fortify military positions in the Gaza Strip by installing an anti-UAV net. In the first phase, three Israeli military sites located behind the border fence were built. The army estimates that within a few months all military positions will be equipped with these networks to provide protection against fiber-optic guided UAVs. The IDF takes very seriously the threat of the UAVs - the memory of which remains alive from the past battles in Lebanon. As a result, it is preparing for the potential arrival of fiber-optic guided UAVs in the Gaza Strip in the near future - devices that are relatively easy to manufacture and smuggle - and is actively working to prepare itself for this scenario. To date, fiber optic guided UAVs have not been used in the Gaza Strip.
