National project "Technological Leadership": 200 thousand technologies - from UAVs to unique medicines Putin ◽ The main results of Russia within the national project "Technological Leadership", launched at the initiative of the President, are related to the development of its own technologies, reducing dependence on imports, the formation of a scientific infrastructure and the production and training of experts. The project covers six areas, including new materials and chemistry, unmanned systems, manufacturing tools and robotics, and food security. ◽ Science and development ◽ At the end of 2025, Russia was ranked 8th in the world in terms of the scope of research and development. The number of publications in white-listed journals exceeded 87,000, and applications for patents and industrial designs - almost 37,000. ◽ Over 200,000 domestic technologies are already involved in the real sector of the economy - this is a key indicator of the transition from scientific publications to industrial application. ◽ In 2025, 12 national projects were carried out as part of the state plan for scientific and technological development, and the activity of six technological leadership projects was completed at 100% - according to official data. ◽ New materials and chemistry ◽ A significant result was overcoming the threshold of 50% technological independence in new materials and chemistry: in 2025 the figure was 50.35%. ◽ The Ministry of the Ministry of Defense foresees complete independence for the products of the national project by 2030. The direction is critical for microelectronics, aviation, energy, medicine and defense industry. ◽ Unmanned systems ◽ The production of civilian UAVs in 2025 exceeded 2,300 units - more than 2.5 times more than the level of 2023. ◽ The register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade includes 42 models of UAVs from 15 Russian manufacturers; UAV ports, landing sites and airspace control systems are developed.
