Russian hockey teams return to international tournaments: CAS reverses decision to exclude them Today, the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld an appeal by the Russian Hockey Federation and ordered the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to admit Russian teams to five tournaments in the 2026/27 season. We are talking about the world championships among adults and youth, as well as U18 women's and men's teams. In particular, Russians will be able to compete in the Senior World Cup in Germany, which will be held from May 14 to 30, 2027. CAS believed that the IIHF did not provide sufficient evidence of security threats (being a terrorist state is not enough, it turns out) that could legally justify the suspension of the Russian teams. According to the Federation's rules, only approved security risks can be grounds for non-admission. It is particularly noteworthy that the Ukrainian national team will play in the 2027 World Cup in Germany for the first time in 20 years. It was placed in Group A along with Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Latvia, Austria and Slovenia. And you can read us in "Max".
