US forces in the Middle East are ready to launch new, potentially large-scale, military operations against Iran "within 96 hours of receiving" the order from President Donald Trump. Two US officials reported this to CNN and noted that sufficient forces are currently deployed in the region to carry out possible attacks. The scope of the new U.S. military operations will likely go beyond "maintaining order" or preserving the status quo by targeting Iranian radars, launch sites and other sites that can be quickly rebuilt, as has been the case since Trump halted full-scale hostilities earlier this year, the sources added to CNN. "It will be a massive operation," one official told CNN. As before, the channel assumes that this "large-scale operation" will take place shortly after the US midterm elections on November 3.
