Joint statement to the IDF and Shin Bet spokesmen:

Another closing of the circle: the commander of the Rafah Brigade who was killed was involved in the holding of IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians in captivity by Hamas

After a lengthy intelligence study carried out by the bodies, the IDF and Shin Bet are now revealing that the commander of the Rafah Brigade, Na'el Abu Abid, who was killed this week (Tuesday) in the Gaza Strip, was involved in the kidnapping and holding of IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians for years and during the war.

In 2014, Na'el Abu Ebid was the deputy commander of the Rafah Brigade and took part in the holding of the late Lieutenant Hadar Goldin in the captivity of Hamas.

Throughout the war, Abu Abid took part in the holding of a number of hostages, including Major Nimrod Cohen in an underground infrastructure in the Rafah area.

The killing of Abu Abid is an important closing of the circle for the IDF and the Shin Bet, which will continue to act strongly against the terrorists who took part in the October 7 massacre.
