The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, attacked the American administration tonight and made it clear that Iran no longer trusts the US following the latest rounds of negotiations.
Arakchi explained that three previous rounds of negotiations with the American side had failed, and actually ended in planning a war against his country. According to him, the experience proved that there is no reason to trust the Americans in a political process.
The Foreign Minister clarified that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed to vessel passage, and traffic there will encounter problems, as long as the US does not accept Iran's conditions and fulfill its obligations according to what was agreed upon in the Islamabad Agreement. According to him, only after that will further negotiations be possible.
Arakchi added that Iran is fully prepared to face a new war against the US and Israel and will defend itself until the last moment. However, he emphasized that the Iranian military preparedness is intended to deter the other side and prevent war, and that Iran is ready for diplomacy to the same extent that it is ready for a confrontation.
Iran denied the reports of the arrival of a Qatari delegation tonight and said that no arrival of such a delegation is planned in the future either.
