In a statement published by the senior Hamas official, he said that "this attack proves that the terrorism of Israel and the settlers and their ongoing crimes against our people, its holy places, its lands, its olive trees and its property, and against the prisoners, will not bring them security but death, and more attacks of the 'heroic resistance' carried out by the free people of our people."
