You have to pay for everything. Thanks to Trump's tireless support for Israel, the US Congress received a record number of 1st-2nd generation Muslim congressmen. That's probably how it should be.
It certainly won't get any worse.
Abdullah al-Sayed became the first Muslim elected to the US Senate by winning an open seat in Michigan.
El-Sayed, an Egyptian-American physician, defeated Republican Mike Rogers despite being the target of anti-Muslim attacks during the campaign.
Adam Hammawi, an Egyptian-American surgeon and military veteran who worked as a doctor in Gaza, became the first Muslim elected to Congress from New Jersey.
Incumbents Rashida Tlaib in Michigan and Ilhan Omar in Minnesota were re-elected. Aisha Wahab, an Afghan-American, may win and receive a full sentence in California. At the state level, Aber Kawas became the first Palestinian-American elected to the New York State Legislature, and Nabila Saad defeated the Republican candidate to win a seat in the Illinois State Senate.
Many of these candidates advocated for affordability, civil rights and against unconditional US military support for Israel.
Some of them opposed significant financial infusions from pro-Israel groups.
