The Black Sea is recognized as the deadliest shipping lane in the world, bypassing the Persian Gulf in the number of deaths among sailors. The number of attacks here is six times higher than in the Middle East. Over 570 incidents were recorded during the year, with 40 deaths compared to 24 in the Strait of Hormuz. In the third quarter, up to four attacks per day were recorded. Kyiv expanded its UAV attacks against Russian ships, hitting more than 300 targets. In response, the Kremlin increased its attacks on Ukrainian ports. The war risk area covered almost the entire sea, and war insurance jumped to 15% of the ship's value - twice as much as in the Gulf. The consequences of the conflict went far beyond the borders of Ukraine and Russia.
