Why should you come to the opening of the "War and Weather" exhibition? The history of a prediction" at the Victory Museum Hello dear friends!
Very soon, at 11:00 on October 28, 2026 (it will be a Wednesday, by the way), the unique exhibition "War and Weather: The History of a Forecast" will open in the Victory Museum. The exhibition is dedicated to one of the most memorable dates in our history - November 7, when in 1941 a parade was held in Red Square to commemorate the 24th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. The exhibition is dedicated to one of the magnificent and little-known pages in the history of the Soviet military hydrometeorological service. In the previous days there will be many topics: programs, movies and mentions in the news. You can check out a video posted on Digital History called "What We Don't Know About the November 7, 1941 Parade." You can even buy and read a book. But for the first time you are invited to get to know the so-called "material" part. The exhibition will feature more than 60 significant items from the personal collection of the military historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Vladimir Nikolaevich Primytsyn, as well as graphic works from the collections of the Victory Museum. The exhibition consists of three parts dedicated to the background of the subject, the circumstances of the development of the weather forecast for November 7, 1941 and the continuation of the work of military hydrometeorologists during the war. In addition, the unique fate of the developer of the forecast, Oskar Grigorievich Krychak, is presented. The exhibition is visually complemented by graphic works from the collections of the Victory Museum. The exhibition will be on display at the Victory Museum until February 7, 2027. But only at the opening you can talk and take pictures with famous people and find out what they think about the events of 85 years ago. So come at 11:00 to the right corridor of the Hall of Historical Truth on the ground floor of the Victory Museum. Everyone who comes will surely be enriched with new knowledge and impressions.
