In a "historic" move, the British Green Party officially adopts an anti-Israel stance, after party members voted during its annual conference in Brighton on a resolution that considers Zionism a form of racism.
▪️The resolution, submitted by the "Greens for Palestine" group within the party, was supported by 1,022 members, compared to the rejection of 813, thus becoming part of the party's official policy.
▪️The decision establishes the party's opposition to Zionism, and renews the party's commitment to support the liberation of Palestine and the Palestinians' right of return.
▪️ The resolution also supports the boycott, removal and sanctions movement on "Israel", and calls for a comprehensive ban on the export of weapons to it, in addition to condemning Israeli war crimes.
