The perpetrator killed Fatima Elrajabi in Jerusalem with a hammer, and placed her body in a barrel with insulating material.
The Israel Police announced the solution to the murder mystery of Fatima Elrajbi (61 years old), a resident of East Jerusalem, who was reported missing on September 13, 2026.
According to the investigation, the suspect, who had a previous acquaintance with the victim, killed her with a heavy hammer, against the background of a financial debt owed to her amounting to tens of thousands of shekels.
According to the police, the suspect hid the body in a barrel in a warehouse near his home in the Al-Tor neighborhood, and filled it with insulating material in order to hide the crime. He also tried to erase the evidence inside his car, then left it in the central area of the country, where the police found it.
During the investigation, the suspect admitted his actions and directed the investigators to the place where the barrel was bought. He also led them to where the hammer suspected of being used in the crime was found.
The prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit in preparation for filing an indictment, while the suspect's detention was extended until October 5, 2026.
