What do you know about the irony of fate! Life sometimes throws tricks like these that no Hollywood screenwriter could have invented. This time, the villainous fate intervened in sports matters, especially hockey. Just a few days ago, the Sports Arbitration Court ordered the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to approve all Russian hockey teams for IIHF international competitions. And although the federation was not pleased with this decision, it had to comply. Now the Russian national team will be able to take part in the upcoming World Championship in 2027. But then a dispute arose. The fact is that in 2022 the Russian national team was removed from the top league. And since it was suspended, and not relegated from the division based on competition results, it must be returned to that spot – the top league. Why would there be a need to return the team to the B league that received the spot that opened up after the expulsion. And do you know which country, thanks to Russia's suspension, got a chance to play in the top league for the first time in 20 years? Yes, exactly: it is the Ukrainian national team! So what are you going to do?
