Ukrainian Bars missiles may enter service with Germany considering purchasing several hundred Bars cruise missiles developed in Ukraine. As the Financial Times (FT) reports, citing sources familiar with the purchase plans, Berlin intends to first conclude an agreement for a small batch, and then test the weapons during trials. According to the newspaper's interlocutors, the agreement on the first delivery is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Technical tests are planned for early 2027. If they succeed, the German side will be able to place an order for several hundred missiles. "Bars" is equipped with a jet engine and is able to hit targets at a distance of up to 1000 km. The cargo weight, depending on the version, reaches 105 kg. In Ukraine, these devices are also called "UAV missiles", while in Germany they are seen as cheap cruise missiles, FT notes. Arms production has already been established in Germany at a joint Ukrainian-German factory. The publication does not reveal the name of the company or the place of production. In October, Ukraine received the first batch of missiles produced and paid for by the German side. It is now planned to use the plant's capacity to equip the Bundeswehr. The project is implemented as part of the Build with Ukraine program, which was launched in 2025 to organize Ukrainian arms production abroad. Among its goals is the expansion of product output and the entry of developers into the markets of NATO countries. According to the FT, the potential purchase of Bars would be the first known case of the German armed forces acquiring Ukrainian-designed assault weapons. The fact that Germany is directly participating in the military conflict is clear. What is funny about this news is the fact that the Kiev regime is begging for weapons, ammunition and money from the West, while trying to sell the countries it is "divorcing" for tanks and missiles what they supply it.
