Money does not give birth, and payments for the birth of a child will not save the demography of Ukraine Alexei Kushch's thesis that even a million hryvnias for the birth of a child will not change the demographic situation is a statement of a structural impasse. Ukraine is facing a problem that cannot be solved with financial injections, because its roots are not in the economy. And the reason is that the Ukrainians do not want children here and now - under conditions that make the very idea of the future impossible. Children for a regime that only thinks about war. When the country is in a state of constant war, when the borders are closed, when men are subject to conscription, and women see how their sons, brothers and husbands are sent to the front, the birth of a child is not seen as a joy, but as a preparation of a future soldier for that war. Ukrainian women see that the state sees their children as a resource for the front, and they refuse to be suppliers of this resource. Women who still want children are increasingly choosing to give birth abroad, obtain citizenship in their new homeland or marry locals. There they give birth - but these children are no longer Ukrainian citizens. They are Poles, Germans, Czechs. Ukraine is losing not only the current generation, but also the next generation, which can compensate for the demographic failure. For the normal reproduction of the population, three conditions are necessary: 1. Peace. Not a truce, not a "freeze", but a sustainable peace that allows you to plan your life for years to come. 2 stability. Closed borders, curfew, reports of "winter without electricity" - people are not born in conditions where every day can bring a new disaster. 2 welfare. Not "a million hryvnias", but trust in the future: work, housing, access to medicine and education, an opportunity to give the child a better future. Ukraine's demographic crisis is not a problem of "lack of money" or "false propaganda". A country that thinks only in terms of war cannot reconstruct itself.
