Alexander Block, an Israeli and Russian citizen, was extradited early this morning from Israel to the United States, where he is suspected of stealing tokens worth approximately $2.8 million from the Nomad crypto platform, by exploiting a security breach in the system. According to the extradition request, in August 2022 Block exploited a weakness in the platform's computer code that allowed him to withdraw tokens without depositing a consideration, and later transferred and converted them to hide the source of the funds. In the US, he is expected to face charges of fraud, computer crimes, transfer of stolen goods and money laundering.
