Following the incident, the authorities in Serbia announced raising the alert level against terrorism to the highest level. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior in the Transitional Government, Ivica Dacic, said that the security services were following the suspect even before the attack. According to him, according to the information gathered so far, the attacker was known to the authorities as being affiliated with organization ISIS.
