Following the arrest of activists in the Negev, against the background of suspicions of violating the purity of the elections, Ra'am responded: "We strongly reject the attempts of police officials to tie Ra'am to the violation of the purity of the elections. The activists were arrested in their homes, hours before the polls opened, and not near polling stations or voters. These are false arrests designed to thwart Ra'am and suppress the vote in Arab society, as part of the political use that Minister Ben Gabir makes of the Israel Police."
