Fear of floods in the south: The police are preparing for an unusual weather system expected in the south on Tuesday and Wednesday, with heavy rains, thunderstorms and fear of floods in the Negev, the Arava and the Eilat area. All the hiking sites from Beer Sheva to Eilat will be closed at the direction of the police, and there is a fear of roadblocks and significant traffic disruptions, including on routes leading to and from Eilat. The police urge the public to avoid trips in the area and non-essential travel, and not to cross flooded roads or flowing water channels.
