The prosecutor's office filed an appeal against a one-year prison sentence imposed on a father who was convicted of severely abusing his infant son, starting when he was only a month old. Among other things, the father used to strangle his son until he lost consciousness in order to put him to sleep. The prosecutor's office asked for a harsher punishment, arguing that the punishment is not appropriate for the severity of his actions.
