Yaakov Vider, a member of the Bnei Brak city council, said in response to the riot: "We must not put up with a situation where IDF soldiers do not feel safe in Bnei Brak. Thugs who try to terrorize the beloved IDF soldiers, and try to defame the name of an entire city whose residents love the IDF soldiers, should be dealt with severely. I expect the municipality of Bnei Brak to strongly condemn the thugs and their actions."
