The University of Haifa awarded the international director Amos Gitai, born in the city, an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree, in recognition of his contribution to Israeli and world cinema. The ceremony was held in the capacity of the president of the university, Prof. Gur Elroy, and it took place under the direction of the actor Menashe Noy and with the participation of the actresses Yael Abkasis and Karen Mor.
