Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko told AFP in an interview that the city is entering "survival mode" amid the severe escalation in Russian attacks at the start of winter. Klitschko said that residents who have friends or relatives outside of Kyiv should consider moving there temporarily. However, he emphasized that he would never call for a complete evacuation of the city. "That's Putin's goal. The best scenario for him is that we all leave and give him our empty cities and our country," he said. In the photo: an attack by Russia in the heart of Kyiv. Photo: AP
