Shas disparages the anti-conscription protests: "The self-initiated and painful arrests of yeshiva members during this period, and the chaos we are now seeing on Israel's roads, are the handiwork of the ombudsman, with the aim of disintegrating the right-wing bloc, alienating the ultra-Orthodox public and causing parts of it to refrain from voting. This is a blatant and unprecedented interference by the judicial system and by elements of the military police in the election campaign."
