US Supreme Court orders execution of Christa Pike, the first woman to be executed in Tennessee in 200 years for a 1995 murder, to proceed, following a stay issued by a lower court hours earlier. According to an NBC report, Pike's attorney appealed again to the court to halt the execution after she received two lethal injections and remained alive.
