Zelensky told the Wall Street Journal that he has asked President Donald Trump for a "winter package" of new military equipment, and that he believes the United States will work toward an agreement to end attacks on energy infrastructure in the war. He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin is not likely to agree to a stop without additional pressure, for example through the worsening of sanctions. He said that with the election behind him, Putin felt little pressure to change the way the war was conducted, despite limited progress on the battlefield.
