Some White House aides predicted that part of the reason for the Republican defeat in the midterm elections was attributed to Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the US Central Command in the region known as CENTCOM, as well as to General Dan Cain, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, both of whom played a prominent role in providing strategies for aggression against Iran.
