The United Nations began examining the decision to end the American embargo against Cuba. On Tuesday, the General Assembly of the United Nations began examining the proposed resolution to end the American embargo against Cuba. This is the thirty-fourth time that Havana has made such a proposal at the United Nations; an initiative that has received broad international support since 1992. The review of this decision should continue in two days and under the conditions of growing tensions between Washington and Havana. According to Cuba's report, the economic damage caused by more than six decades of US blockade reached 178 billion and 700 million dollars. The damages for the period from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026 are also estimated at 8 billion and 83 million dollars.
