Russia used North Korean ballistic missiles in a massive attack on Kiev and the region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said. According to him, one of the central energy facilities was hit by a KN-23 missile produced in North Korea. In total, according to Zelensky, 36 ballistic missiles were fired at the capital area, of which the Ukrainian air defense managed to intercept only four. The President of Ukraine emphasized that the country is experiencing an acute shortage of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, and the United States can play a key role in solving this problem. "At all levels, we are looking for ways to speed up shipments and send the necessary signals to the American side so that Ukraine can protect people's lives." Zelensky wrote. He noted that additional air defense systems are needed especially in the winter evening and a new attempt by Kyiv, together with its partners, to increase the peace negotiations. Thus, Ukraine connects the strengthening of air defense not only with the protection of energy and the population, but also with the preparations for the next stage of the diplomatic negotiations.
