The European Union is calling on member states to more actively use the Safe Fund to strengthen their defense and support Ukraine, Reuters reports. The European Commission has invited EU countries to apply for loans from a 21.3 billion euro fund and to launch joint procurement programs with Ukraine as part of the second round of safe deposit. The priority areas are air defense and anti-missile defense systems, UAVs and their means of combat, as well as the production of ammunition and missiles. The European Commission emphasizes that funds should be directed mainly to the urgent needs of the armed forces of Ukraine and Europe.
