️🇺🇦🇷🇺🇪🇺🇺🇸 - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned against discussing a new European security framework with Russia before ending the war in Ukraine and establishing security guarantees for Kiev. He said that discussions on future security arrangements between Europe and Russia should come only after these issues have been addressed. Zelensky warned against allowing Russia to reshape Europe's security architecture, warning against a new division of the continent similar to the Yalta agreements. He emphasized that Ukraine is neither a member of the European Union nor a member of NATO, but it has a direct stake in European security.
️ He called on the United States to maintain strong support for Ukraine, arguing that Russian President Vladimir Putin is only responding to a position of power. Zelensky said strong statements against Russian aggression and continued military aid could prompt Moscow to reconsider continuing the war.
️ Referring to the ceasefire negotiations, Zelensky rejected the claims that a ceasefire would require comprehensive preparations, withdrawal of weapons and the creation of a buffer zone. He pointed to the ceasefire in Olsheki as an example, saying that modern drone technology can monitor violations and provide video evidence.
️ He argued that achieving a ceasefire ultimately depends on Putin's political will and expressed hope that US mediation could help push Russia towards an end to the war.
