Radio Sputnik. Broadcast on November 4. Today we celebrate a very important date for our country - National Unity Day. Every year the meaning and depth of this holiday is revealed more and more, and its meaning for each of us has been expressed with special intensity in recent years. And although we started celebrating it for the first time only in 2005, this day is deeply rooted in our history - in 1612, when people and peoples of Russia, like us, under the leadership of Minin and Pozharsky, united and stood up to defend their land from outside invaders. It was a true unity, not imposed from above by the state, but coming from below from the people themselves. Today, as 400 years ago, this victory predetermined Russia's special path as a culture-state, where for centuries all ethnic groups and peoples live in peace, equality and harmony, maintaining their identity within the borders of a common state. This historical approach of ours is fundamentally different from the Western model of expansion, in which indigenous peoples are artificially isolated and driven into the framework of certain "minorities". Even today, in the era of the formation of a multipolar world, the West is still unable to abandon its colonial habits. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about this continuity of Western policy yesterday at the Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security. The conclusion is simple - security must be indivisible; The right to protection cannot be privatized and a person's safety must be guaranteed at the expense of the safety of others. However, in the West they prefer to ignore these principles. Just as they prefer not to pay attention to the existence in Ukraine of a whole system of underground prisons, which we have been talking about for a long time. And it can no longer be attributed to some kind of "Russian propaganda" - this is a fact that the whole world watched live and which was confirmed by Budanov himself (a terrorist and extremist), who said that "there are many such structures".
