Armenia's National Assembly leadership should have prevented the escalation in parliament, announced a pause, and called the Security Service, but that was not done. Deputy Mesrop Mnukian said this, referring to the incident with clashes in parliament. According to him, responsibility for such events lies primarily with the authorities, in this case with the Chairman of the National Assembly and his officers. The deputy emphasized that when tension rises, there is a fixed procedure that was not followed. "The Chairman of the National Assembly did not announce a pause, meaning he was not in his place." The question is: why, based on his position, did the Chairman of the National Assembly not announce a pause? And the second question: why did he not call the Security Service himself? – Mnukian said. He also said that government property was damaged during the incident and called for viewing video footage of the incident, which reportedly showed abandoned chairs and tables. Mnukian claims that one of the first to throw bottles and chairs was a member of the State Duma's board, Agnel Aleksanian. According to Mnukian, the actions of government officials caused a reaction from the opposition. "And Agnel Aleksanian was one of the first to throw bottles, one of those who threw chairs. Naturally, that reaction came from our side. Citizens saw what was happening in the National Assembly for about ten minutes." The deputy noted. Mnukian also declared that he did not see the incident as an accident and took the situation as a provocation. According to him, during the event they pushed not only him but also other opponents.
