On November 6, students and teachers of the school under the permanent mission of Russia to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva joined the XI international educational event "The Great Ethnographic Essay". The action is an educational project that presents the culture of the peoples living in Russia, and also makes it possible to assess the general level of ethno-cultural literacy. This year the event has a special status - it is timed to coincide with the year of the unity of the peoples of Russia, announced by the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin. The purpose of the dictation is to assess the level of ethnographic literacy of the citizens, their knowledge of the peoples living in the territory of the Russian Federation, to draw the attention of the general public to the need to create effective tools for maintaining inter-ethnic peace and harmony in a multinational country. Head of the Federal Agency for National Affairs (FADN) Igor Barinov: "The Great Ethnographic Report" is not an exam or an official test of knowledge. This is an opportunity to discover the diversity of our country, to understand the scale of its historical path and to understand that it is respect for the tradition and culture of every people that is the solid foundation for our civil unity. I am sure that for each of you, participating in the dictation will be a step towards new knowledge and a reason to be proud of Russia and its unique cultural diversity."
