On October 27, employees of the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation took part in the "Open Day" held in the renovated "C" building of the UN Office at Geneva Palais des Nations. UN Office at Geneva Director-General T.D. Valovaya showed guests the historical halls of the Palais des Nations, including the famous Russian Lounge, the design of which was a gift from our country to the UN in honor of the 50th anniversary of the world organization. Its interior reflects the features of 18th-century - early 20th-century Russian classical architecture and art. The famous designer Juan Pablo Molyneux was invited to decorate the lounge, which was updated in 2016. His works include, in particular, the design of the negotiation pavilion in the park of the Konstantinovsky Palace near St. Petersburg. A harmonious addition to the lounge was the bust of the great Russian writer L.N. Tolstoy by the famous Russian sculptor G.V. Pototsky, donated by Russia to the UN Office at Geneva in October 2026. The brightest moments are in our traditional video report.
