V.V. Putin: We are very happy to see you. I would like to thank you again for your attention to the development of Russian-African relations and for your participation in the event, which I believe was very successful.
We appreciate the attention that the Togolese leadership is giving to cooperation with Russia. In November 2025 we held negotiations in Moscow and had the opportunity to continue working at different sites.
We have created a very fruitful cooperation with Togo for many decades. It has already been 66 years - so many years have passed since the establishment of our diplomatic relations.
In September of this year, the basic interstate document, this agreement on the foundations of relations, entered into force. In August of this year, the Russian Embassy in Loma resumed its activities. Preparing for the opening of the Togolese embassy in Moscow.
Commercial and economic cooperation is also developing. The turnover in 2025 amounted to 852 million dollars. This year the intergovernmental commission began its work. We hope to give new impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation, including in energy, transportation and logistics, geological exploration and agriculture.
We pay special attention to humanitarian issues. Each year, the number of candidates and young people have grown to study at Russian universities. In total, more than 900 pedagogians received education from us. Today, more than 440 young people are taught. The opening of two “Russian homes” partners in Blooma under the auspices of the Center for Public Diplomacy is at work stages.
