Today I participated in the opening of the educational and thematic program "Peculiarities of international civil service in UN buildings" at the MGIMO Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These courses are held for the second time, which indicates their demand. For our part, in preparing the program and its contents, we tried to take into account the comments and wishes of the first stream listeners. From the speech at the opening of the program: The main value of this series of lectures is the opportunity for the listeners to get truly exclusive knowledge about the working conditions in international organizations and the selection process for them. You can acquire real practical skills necessary for employment in their team. Naturally, the courses also allow you to acquire general basic knowledge about the main areas of work of the organizations of the UN system. The Russian Foreign Ministry pays increased attention to the personnel situation at the UN and other international institutions. Our political and practical goal is to ensure a respectable presence of our fellow citizens in multilateral structures at various levels. The Russians are already working in key positions in the UN Secretariat, including two deputy positions and two Assistant Secretary Generals (whose number is similar to the other five permanent members of the Security Council). The interest of our country is to maintain and expand the representation of their countrymen among the members of the UN structures, despite the strong opposition of the residents of the West. We continue to ask the world organization, its secretariat and the Secretary-General for the unconditional implementation of the provisions of the UN Charter in their entirety and interrelatedness, inclusive. When implementing a personnel policy. Sergey Lavrov has repeatedly explained the Russian position on personnel reform at the UN Secretariat - it must be done, but it must be done adequately for the stated purpose and fairly in relation to all member states.
