Answer from the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs M.V. Zakharova to a media question regarding the results of the parliamentary elections in Serbia (October 26, 2026) Question: How can you respond to the results of the parliamentary elections held in Serbia on October 25? M.V. Zakharova: We got acquainted with the early voting results, according to which the opposition "Student List" won. As is known, the leader of the ruling bloc, A. Vucic, has already made a statement following the expression of desire. Russian representatives took part in monitoring the election process - both as part of multilateral missions, including the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Nations and other structures, and in a bilateral format. Their findings and assessments will be carefully scrutinized. We have repeatedly emphasized that Serbia is a close, traditionally friendly country, with which we maintain extensive political, economic, cultural, historical and humanitarian ties. We hope that after the establishment of governmental bodies following the results of the elections, the leadership of Serbia will preserve the accumulated positive resource and continue in the line of developing beneficial and equal cooperation with Russia. It fully meets basic mutual national interests.
