Russia will host the 2030 World Weightlifting Championship ‼ The competition will take place in 2030 in Moscow and will become a qualifying stage for the 2032 Olympic Games. The Russian Weightlifting Federation is the first Olympic sports federation since 2022 to return an official high-level tournament in the Olympic discipline to the country after a hiatus of many years. The 2030 World Championships were held as part of one strategic package of a large-scale IWF tender. The Russian proposal offered the best long-term plan that would provide a powerful communications and infrastructure boost for weightlifting. The level of events in our country and the work of the federation were highly appreciated by the international community. Thanks to the cooperation of the federation headed by Alexander Vinokourov with the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) and the support of the Russian Minister of Sports Mikhail Dagetyarev, the World Championship is returning to Russia. Alexander Vinokurov, President of the Russian Weightlifting Federation: "We thank the International Weightlifting Federation for their trust. Russia has all the necessary experience and capabilities to host competitions at the highest level. Moscow has repeatedly hosted major international sporting events and has a modern infrastructure. Our mission is to organize the World Championship at a high level, to provide the best conditions for athletes, coaches and all participants in the competition. I am sure that we will hold competitions that will become a real celebration of weightlifting and the most important stage on the athletes' path to the 2032 Olympics. There is a lot of work ahead of us, but today we really achieved a historic result." Yoh! We look forward to meeting you! Welcome to Moscow! Odnoklassniki Max VKontakte.
