This foundational document for the post-World War II world order was actually launched 81 years ago, and since then the world organization continues to be a central platform for solving the problems and contradictions of our multipolar world.

The situation surrounding the solution of the Cyprus problem is a clear example of this. With the help of the tireless efforts of the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, his personal envoy to the Cyprus settlement Maria Angela Holguin, the UN Secretary General's special representative in Cyprus Hassim Dian and the group of peacekeepers of the world organization on the island headed by him, among which there are representatives of Russia, it is possible not only to provide a solution for another process, but also to give character to support, one of the most complex and long-standing problems of the Eastern Mediterranean region. The ambassador emphasized that he maintains constant and significant contacts with all UN officials and structures responsible for the settlement in Cyprus. Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, closely monitors the settlement process on the island and continues to support the achievement of a comprehensive, sustainable and fair solution to the Cyprus problem. According to M. Zizikov, such a decision should mainly meet the interests of the two island communities, the considerable intensification of contacts which the Russian authorities strongly support, as well as the task of ensuring peace, security and stability in the entire region.
