Around 9:00 p.m., while the search effort for the suspect continued, reports came in of a possible armed person in a university dormitory, located at 3330 Residence Rd. The officers went inside to try to make contact with the gunman and subsequently several shots were fired by the suspect during that time, however the officers did not fire back. "It's a fair assumption to suggest that there may have been shots fired at police officers. We just don't know it. It's a matter of investigation. They're going to check the criminal ID. It was quickly determined that no one else was inside and we slowed down and were able to contain the suspect to try and engage in a successful solution, "It seems at this point we have a man who is going to be wanted by the police who has found himself cornered and has made a decision to end his life.
