The Russian Historical Society offered to organize short-term history courses for civil servants and media workers. This initiative was taken by RIO Council member, Rector of the Russian State University of Humanities Andrei Loginov during the international week "People of Russia". In his opinion, it is necessary to better reflect the historical unity of the peoples of the Russian Federation on the state agenda. A separate discussion was devoted to the "Historical Foundations of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia" as part of the International Week "Peoples of Russia" held in Moscow. According to the chairman of RIO, director of the foreign intelligence service of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin, RIO has been having a "big conversation" on this issue since January. The task of historians is to talk about joint achievements, explained Mr. Naryshkin: "It is not enough to simply say that our Russia is multinational. We need to show how people from different cultures have learned to live, work and fight together for hundreds of years." It is proposed to initiate programs for the digitization and scientific description of local historical sources, to introduce into the training of historians a mandatory module "Methods of teaching the history of multinational regions", which develops the ability to work with "sensitive material" and "multiple narratives". And importantly, create "short-term historical plans" for officials and media people. The task of such programs will not be to "broadcast prepared content", but "to train the ability to evaluate historical information". We are watching.
